I presented a TEDx Talk in September 2019. Reflecting from my personal stories and doctoral research, I examinined five key gendered tropes used by the media and urged for a change in the ways we engage with the media to create a fairer society for all.
I was invited to give a talk for the ANU Global Challenges Learning Centre on my research comparing the gendered media coverage of the respective leadership challenges of Australia’s first woman prime minister Julia Gillard and subsequent prime minister Malcolm Turnbull.
